The Iowa Ornithologists’ Union (IOU) is celebrating its 100 year anniversary and is partnering with the Carnegie Historical Museum to kick off a year of special activities around the state. The museum’s collection of taxidermied birds and Fairfield’s love for birding both date back to the late 1800’s. Come join photographer Julie Johnston and retired naturalist Therese Cummiskey (both members of IOU and board members for the Carnegie) to learn about the diversity of Birds of Prey in Iowa. Accompanying Julie’s beautiful photography with be intriguing stories of the histories of these birds. The program will meet in the Indian Hills classroom on the 2nd floor of the Carnegie Museum building.
