Woman’s Suffrage In Jefferson County

April 18 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

On August 26, 1920 the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, granting women the right to vote. But the journey to woman’s suffrage was a long one that took place on the local level as well as national. Come join Dee Sanquist and other members of the Fairfield Unit of the League of Women Voters of Ottumwa as they share stories of women’s suffrage, with a Jefferson County slant. Will meet at the McElhinney House at 300 North Court Street.
